The Waiting
“I cried aloud to the Lord, and he answered me from his holy hill. I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the Lord sustained me.” — Psalm 3:4-5
“…but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” — Isaiah 40:31
When our world is upside down, we can choose to live in the panic and fear what the unexpected throws into our lives, or we can choose prayer. We can ask for the strength to live day by day. We can ask God for the peace that passes understanding, so our bodies and our minds can rest.
Most of the time when we pray, the storm still rages, but our souls can be calm. Most of the time, situations don’t change overnight, but that doesn’t mean that our prayers are not heard. God’s plan that we cannot see is at work. All of the time, we can give our worries and hurts to God, trusting that He sees us, believing that He will make a way where there seems to be no way.
Our hands trembling, anxiety turns into a heart full of joy when we see a prayer being answered, bit by bit, one day at a time. Our faith grows as we watch God orchestrate events to care for us and our loved ones, proving to our weak faith that yes, He knows us and loves us and provides for us in a million ways. When we cry out to the Lord, when we wait for the Lord, we can lay down and go to sleep at night, and in the morning we have the God-given gift of strength for the new day.
Day after day as we pray, God isn’t absent in the waiting or in the heartache. He’s right in the middle of it with us. - (Deborah Smith)
Lord, thank You that You are right here in the middle of the waiting with me. When the storm continues to rage and situations don't change overnight, calm my soul and quiet my anxious thoughts. Help me to surrender my worries into Your hands, trusting in Your unseen plan. Renew my strength day by day, and grant me the peace to rest tonight, knowing You sustain me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Team Wade loves you and is praying for you ❤️👊
