Going to Church Worshiping Rather Than to Worship
“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” — John 4:24 (NKJV)
Many believers think worship begins when the music starts on Sunday morning. But biblical worship is not an event we attend; it is a lifestyle we live. We should not go to church expecting to be put in a worshipful mood. Instead, we should arrive with hearts already full of gratitude, praise, and reverence for our Savior.
When we spend time with God throughout the week in His Word and in prayer, Sunday becomes an overflow rather than a refill. We gather with the body of Christ to magnify the Lord together, encouraging one another and giving Him the honor He deserves.
The church is not a place where worship begins; it is a place where worshipers unite. A heart prepared before entering the sanctuary is a heart ready to receive from God and to give Him glory.
Let’s start our preparation now.
Heavenly Father, help me to live a life of worship every day, not just on Sundays. Prepare my heart before I gather with Your people, so that I come to church already praising You. May my worship be in spirit and in truth, bringing honor to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Team Wade loves you and there’s nothing you can do about it ❤️👊
