Trust the Savior, Not Your Feelings

“It is insane and insulting to trust our feelings and not trust the Savior.” — Charles Spurgeon

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Father, in a world that teaches us to trust our own hearts, please allow us to see the trickery of the enemy in that very statement. Allow us to see its contradiction to Your Word. May we place our trust in You and in You alone. As thankful as we are for the feelings and emotions You’ve given each of us, You teach us not to trust them, for feelings and emotions can often steer us straight into a ditch. May we simply trust You and Your Word and acknowledge You in all things.

In Jesus' name.
