The Shepherd's Voice

Isaiah 30:21 "Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.”

There are moments in life when the decision before us is not between right and wrong, but between good and God’s best. Isaiah reminds us that the Lord is not silent toward His children. When we are willing to listen, He speaks, not always with urgency or force, but with a steady, reassuring direction: "This is the way, walk in it."

God’s guidance often comes when we are already moving, weighing options, and seeking Him sincerely. The voice behind us is not one of condemnation, but of loving correction and confirmation. It is the voice of a Shepherd who sees the road ahead and guides our steps.

When we obey, we discover that God’s way always leads to life, peace, and alignment with His will.

Lord, quiet my heart so I may hear Your voice clearly. When I am tempted to lean on my own understanding, help me trust Your direction. Give me the courage to walk in the way You have chosen, and the peace that comes from knowing You are leading me. Amen. - (Jeff Foster)
