There’s Nothing New Under the Sun

“...That which has been is what will be, that which is done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun.” — Ecclesiastes 1:9 (NKJV)

It’s easy to think our struggles are unique—new pressures, new fears, new temptations. But Scripture reminds us that human experience repeats itself. The same pride, hope, disappointment, and longing seen in ancient times still show up today. Nothing catches God off guard, because He has already seen it all.

This truth can feel sobering, but it’s also comforting. If our problems aren’t new, then God’s faithfulness isn’t new either. The same God who sustained generations before us is still at work now. The wisdom that guided them is available to us, and the grace that carried them will carry us too.

Instead of chasing something “new” to fix everything, we can return to what has always been true: God is steady, His Word endures, and obedience still leads to life. When life feels repetitive or uncertain, remember that God’s proven faithfulness is already written across history—and across your life.

Lord, when I feel like my situation is overwhelming or unfamiliar, remind me that You have seen it all before. Help me trust Your timeless wisdom and walk faithfully in what You’ve already shown. Amen.

Team Wade loves you and is praying for you ❤️👊
