Vital Signs - Wednesday, October 30, 2019

There are two Greek words for power in the Bible. One is dunamis- where we get the word Dynamite from. This is the power to do things beyond natural abilities. second word is Exousia- This is the power to not do something that we have the power to do. It’s the difference in being a champion or being a fool. It takes dunamis to lift a car and it takes Exousia to stop at one Oreo.

When Jesus walked on water, healed the sick, raise the dead, His dunamis was on full display. But his greatest victory was won with Exousia. Jesus had at His disposal 12 legions of angels, thats 72,000 angels, to deliver him from the Roman soldiers and from the cross, but he didn’t do it! Jesus said no to the easy way out.

Remember we have the dunamis to change the world, and the Exousia to say no to the easy way out.

Time for some power living.

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Galatians 6:9
