And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. —Luke 17:15–16
The Bible tells the story of ten men who had leprosy, and you couldn’t get any lower in that particular time in history with this incurable disease.
They could have no contact with others. They had to leave their house and their friends and live apart from them. A miserable, lonely life. But they heard about Jesus. They heard how He had touched others and healed them.
So they called out to the Lord and asked for His healing touch. And with just his words Jesus simply said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests” (Luke 17:14). And guess what? They were healed.
Yet only one of ten decided to go back and give thanks.
We are so quick to ask for God’s help, but are we just as quick to say thank you ?
Yes, He is worthy of our praise regardless of our circumstances!
