Vital signs

”I am counting on the Lord; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word.“

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭130‬:‭5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

One of the most difficult words for most people to hear is “wait.”

Think back to when you were young and riding in the car with your parents. How often kids ask “are we there yet?”

The funny thing is that impatience doesn’t go away with age; it often grows stronger.

Whether in the physical or the spiritual areas of our life, waiting can be a difficult task.

David shares in Psalm 130:5 that his “soul does wait” on the Lord. The word "soul" in this context means his desire, appetite, and emotion. David is saying that everything within him (desire, appetite, emotion) will be disciplined to wait for the Lord. Even though he may have wanted an immediate answer or response from God right away, he was willing to wait for God’s perfect timing.

Prayer and fasting helps us learn the power of waiting on God. God is always worth waiting on, and He is always worthy of our pursuit.

If you are in a current season of waiting on God for something, wait with joy and anticipation as you fast and pray. Pursue God while you wait.

Pray today:

Pray for God’s perfect timing in your life.

Pray and fast for answers to prayer.

Pray the Lord gives you peace while you do wait on Him.

Pray with joy and anticipation.

Team Wade loves you and is praying for you ❤️👊
