“Do not get involved in foolish discussions about spiritual pedigrees or in quarrels and fights about obedience to Jewish laws. These things are useless and a waste of time. If people are causing divisions among you, give a first and second warning. After that, have nothing more to do with them.” - Titus 3:9-10 NLT
“Fire goes out without wood, and quarrels disappear when gossip stops.”
- Proverbs 26:20 NLT
Tis the Season
That’s right—’tis the season for voting. With this comes debates, arguments, dissension, hatred, division, and all of the above. However, the Word of God is very clear that we, as followers of Christ, should not engage in such conduct.
I will repeat what I’ve said a thousand times: pray, vote biblically, and love your neighbor as yourself.
If you can’t discuss your political views from a Christian worldview with someone respectfully, then don’t discuss them at all. We are called to be a light, not to air our opinions—even if they are biblically based—if the other person refuses to receive the truth.
