Vital signs- Tuesday, October 17th, 2023

I’ll never forget zoom computer conversation keli and i had with the doctor when I was in Covid intensive care in Missouri. His very words were, Mrs Wade can you bring Phils DNR to us today? I will be venting him tomorrow and when I vent him , he will not be coming off of it. Our very world turned upside down!

What are we to do in these world-shattering occasions when we are thrown into indescribable turmoil? How do we regain our spiritual center of gravity? When the world is going crazy and one war follows another war?

Psalm 46 makes it crystal clear

“Be still and know that I am God” (v.10). Stop panicking. “The Lord of hosts is with us” (vv7, 11).

“God is our refuge and strength, our very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear” (vv1-2).

Father ,

We know that you are God. Stiil our hearts. Remove fear from us. The fear that often sits in the front seat of every car. But strengthen us, and equip us to not allow it to become the driver. You are the Lord of host ! you are our refuge and strength, and we surrender completely, and fully to you today. We will go about this day with great peace and assurance, that you are the light of the world we are not to be controlled by the noise of the world.

In Jesus name !
