Hunger for the Word

“The Bible in memory is better than the Bible in the bookcase.” — Charles Spurgeon

“Jesus answered, ‘It is written: Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” — Matthew 4:4

Father, Today we desperately plead for the setting free from the hunger for physical and earthly things that could give us a false sense of fulfillment. Allow us to enjoy the good things without selling our souls to them. We long for nothing greater than to love You like never before through the hungering for Your word and prayer. Your word tells us while being sifted by the enemy to always pray that we not lose faith. You also tell us that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Grant us that hunger for You above all today. In Jesus name.
