The Purpose of Spiritual Gifts

- Spiritual gifts are not for my benefit, before the good of others.

“God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.” - ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭4‬:‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

- Spiritual gifts are for the purpose of producing maturity in the church body.

“It was he who “gave gifts to people”; he appointed some to be apostles, others to be prophets, others to be evangelists, others to be pastors and teachers. And so we shall all come together to that oneness in our faith and in our knowledge of the Son of God; we shall become mature people, reaching to the very height of Christ's full stature. Then we shall no longer be children, carried by the waves and blown about by every shifting wind of the teaching of deceitful people, who lead others into error by the tricks they invent.” - ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬, ‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭GNT‬‬

Today's practical application is to understand that, to not use our gifts is to stunt the growth of the body of Christ.

Today is a great day to get started using our gifts to benefit the body of Christ.
