“For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭103‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

AS FAR AS THE EAST IS FROM THE WEST

The difference between east and west is an infinite measurement. When you start going east around the globe, you never start going west—that distance is infinite. The distance between north and south is different: when traveling straight north on the globe, you will eventually start heading south again after you pass the pole. Likewise, going south, you will head north again after reaching the southernmost point. When scripture says God removes our sins from us as far as the east is from the west, it is a profound declaration of God’s gift of unmerited mercy.
