Insanity

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” - ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

We've all heard the old saying "to do the same thing over and over expecting different results is the definition of insanity." If we read our Old Testament, especially the book of Kings, we see the repetition of king after king who is either all together evil or is pleasing in the sight of the Lord, with exception of destroying every idol. Why? That's the question I ask only then to reflect, on the fact that we today do the same thing. We are so willing to give so much up but clinch with a tight fist that which has caused so much problem in us for our entire lives.

We long for peace in our lives, but we choose disobedience.

Father today may we embrace Solomon's wisdom in these following verses, surrender completely to you and stop the insanity!

“When a man’s ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.”
