For Jesus doesn’t change—yesterday, today, tomorrow, he’s always totally himself.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:7-8‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Jesus desires deep intimacy with us. It clearly wasn't Jesus who shut the door, leaving him on the street. He's asking us to let him in.

We can begin opening the door by renouncing the lie that Jesus doesn't act toward us the way he acted toward people in the gospels. To get a little perspective, it's absurd to hold on one hand that the Gospels are the definitive word on Jesus, while holding on the other that he doesn't behave like that anymore. God gives us his son, and records for all time in the gospels, against all other claims, Who Jesus is. But then, many Christians have been led to believe, God changed the rules:

That's not available to you now.

"You can't reach out to him in faith as did the woman with the issue of blood and be healed by his life as she was."

That's blasphemy!!!

He is the same, yesterday, today, and forever.
