Freedom in America, Freedom in Christ

“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” — John 8:36 (NKJV)

As we celebrate the freedoms we enjoy in America, we should also remember a greater freedom that no government can give or take away—the freedom found in Jesus Christ. Earthly freedom is a precious blessing, but spiritual freedom is an eternal gift.

Before Christ, we were enslaved to sin and separated from God. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus broke the chains of sin, guilt, and condemnation. In Him, we are forgiven, redeemed, and empowered to live a life that honors God.

As believers, we should be thankful for our nation while remembering that our highest allegiance is to the Kingdom of God. May we use the freedoms we have to boldly worship, faithfully serve, and courageously share the gospel with those who have not yet experienced true freedom.

Lord, thank You for the freedoms we enjoy in our nation, and even more for the freedom You have given us through Jesus Christ. Help us never to take either for granted. Use our lives to glorify You and to proclaim the gospel while we have the opportunity. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
