God-Centered Vision
“A vision of God is the end of boasting.” — Charles Spurgeon
“Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” - Matthew 6:10 NKJV
I find it amazing today as I study and read how God has brought me full circle to a meeting. This is the very topic of our discussion and our prayer I just had with the elders of our church. We can sit around and we can dream, we can have goals, and we can write down our visions...and I think that’s important. But unless we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, it could easily turn out to be a selfish agenda or a self-centered focus.
The bottom line is, if we would simply pray, dive into God’s Word, and seek first His kingdom, then our lives would be steeped in meaning and God-centered focus. Within that God-centered focus is where we will find unity in our churches, joy unspeakable, and strength for the journey.
Yes, life is still full of problems, challenges, and heartache, but there can be unity and peace amidst all of that when we’re in the center of God’s will.
