Aligned Through Prayer

“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” - ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭26‬-‭28‬ ‭NIV‬‬

When it comes to the context of these verses, most people read verse 28 while forgetting that 26 and 27 precede it. Before we can know that God is causing all things to work together for our good, we have to have a prayer life that is aligned with His will.

Have you ever flown over a farm and noticed how all the fields are orderly and in line? They are like that all the time, but you just can’t see it from the ground. Once you are elevated to a new level, you can look down and see how orderly things are. That is what the Spirit does for us when we get our prayer life lined up with God’s will.

It’s only through prayer that we gain a 30,000-foot view.

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” - ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭4‬:‭2‬ ‭NIV‬‬
