Vital signs- Monday, December 18th, 2023

Jesus wasn’t like the other religious leaders. Muhammed, Buddha, Socrates, and Confucius were never said to be divine like Jesus was. Jesus was God wrapped in flesh and displayed as an infant. This is what makes the Christmas story so compelling. The God who fashioned the expanses of the universe was contained in the little baby Jesus. The one who made the animals was born next to them in a barn. “He was created of a mother whom he created. He was carried by hands that He formed,” the famous church leader Augustine once wrote. Jesus, the Mighty God, and Prince of Peace foretold in Isaiah 9, who came to bring reconciliation to the world by dying on a wooden cross. Christmas tells the story of the God who came down from heaven to bring people back to Him.

”For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.“
