“saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.””
Luke 22:42 NKJV
Jesus is praying in the garden of gethsemane the night before His crucifixion. He’s about to die for the sins of all mankind. He’s praying that the ultimate Goal of paying for sins debt is accomplished Through his crucifixion. Though he’s praying for another way to accomplish this, it’s the “nevertheless” moment That Christ surrenders His will to the father’s will.
Surrender is not an easy way out. It’s not a calling it quits when things aren’t going our way.
Surrender only comes after the pain and defeat of trying, doing and wanting things our way.
When we choose to surrender our deepest desires, our agendas and hearts, its then we experience freedom and victory.
Todays is a great day to start trusting God’s plan!
