Forgiveness

I could list many reasons to forgive ourselves and to forgive others, but this morning lets focus on two.

1: Forgiveness of our sin is the greatest gift ever given us. It’s called a gift because we carry a debt of sin that we’re unable to pay a part from the gift of the shed blood of Jesus. Being set free from the prison of sins debt has been offered us if we will simply receive the gift.

“But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”

‭‭1 John‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

2: When we have personally received and embrace Gods forgiveness for our broken condition, we are now able to forgive others who have hurt and wronged us.

“and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. “If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭12‬, ‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

To forgive here, means to “bear the burden”. It always costs to forgive. The one doing the forgiving always pays.

As tough as that is, I will leave you with this truth. If we choose to receive and embrace the forgiveness of Holy God, there will be a healing balm that brings about freedom that you’ve never experienced and a willingness to extend forgiveness to others the same gift given us .

Refuse to stay, imprisoned to the wrongdoing of yourself or others. Dare to be forgiven and to forgive!

Team Wade loves you and is praying for you!!

The Highest Purpose One of the clearest statements of a believer’s purpose is found in The Gospel of Matthew 22:37; Jesus Christ says the greatest commandment is to love the Lord with all your heart,
