Wanting to achieve a lifestyle of consistent honor to God in your own strength and by sheer willpower can lead to frustration and wanting to throw in the towel sooner than later. But you’re not alone. God has promised to be with you every step of the way. He gives you the his Promises, his Power, and his Purpose to help along the way whenever you need it most.
The graceful father of the prodigal son did not welcome him with nags, sermons, or “told yas”. He welcomed him with grace. He gave him what he didn’t deserve. He threw a party in his honor! Likewise, when you humble yourself before God, when you admit your weakness and come back to Him, He opens his arms big and wide to hug you. He never gives up on you, nor does he throw the towel on you. What He started in your life, He will finish.
Leave aside your guilty feelings. Focus on understanding and going deeper in your new identity in Christ.
“being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;”
Philippians 1:6 NKJV
