Legacy: Presence

Every parent longs to leave a positive legacy in their children, but what does it take? The gift of your presence: Sometimes just being there is what matters most to your kids. Often times just walking with them not trying to talk them out of their pain but walking with them in their pain is the key. We don't change the subject. We don't try to get them to look at the bright side of what has happened. We don't urge them to try harder next time. We just sat there and hurt with them. Jesus said we should, "Be happy with those who are happy, weep with those who weep." (Romans 12:15 TEV) That is the essence of empathy; it is the gift of presence.

“Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
