Sometimes our thoughts just have their way with us, don’t they? No matter how hard we try, it seems that our thoughts manage us instead of us managing them. We need to find a way to gain some control over toxic thoughts, because our thoughts determine what we say and do. Let’s allow God’s Word to permeate our minds so that we can live in victory.
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
Psalm 56:3 ESV
“He who planted the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see?”
Psalm 94:9 ESV
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
Philippians 4:8 ESV
Pray with me-
Lord, when I’m afraid, I’ll trust in You. For You haven’t given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. When doubts fill my mind, Your comfort gives me renewed hope. I submit myself to You, rebuke the enemy, and when I do, he has to flee. I demolish arguments and anything that sets itself up against You. God, I take any unhealthy or fear-filled thought captive and make it obey Christ. I’ve been raised with Christ, and I’ll set my mind on things above, not on earthly things. With Your power, I won’t conform to the pattern of this world, but I’ll be transformed by the renewing of my mind. I’ll think about whatever is noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy.
