Instead, train yourself to be godly. “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” 1 Timothy 4:7b-8
After Ringo Borlain won the 2006 Mr. Universe Body Building Competition, he found an even bigger joy—training his children in triathlon.
Each morning, they’d greet Ringo with “What’s our training today, Dad?” Excited to get better, they trusted that their father would stretch them to be the best they could be.
Our Father in heaven has designed us for His greatness. He understands which circumstances increases our strength. He knows which of our prayers build our faith. He knows which people can journey with us. He knows which victory or loss shapes our character. He recognizes which discipline makes us wiser. He is invested in our whole-life training: body, heart, mind and spirit.
Oh, that we would greet Him every morning with “What’s our training today, Dad?”
